How do I temporarily disable ESET Smart Security/ESET NOD32 Antivirus? (3.0)

Occasionally, during the troubleshooting or installation of third party software applications, you may be prompted to temporarily disable your antivirus software. If this is necessary, please remember to immediately re-enable antivirus and antispyware protection after the installation of other software applications is complete. To temporarily disable ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the main program window by clicking the icon  in the Windows notification area or by clicking Start → All Programs → ESET → ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus.

  2. Click Setup → Antivirus and antispyware and then click Temporarily disable Antivirus and antispyware protection. Click Yes when you are prompted to confirm this action.

    NOTE: As a reminder, please immediately re-enable Antivirus and antispyware protection by clicking Setup Antivirus and antispywareEnable Antivirus and antispyware protection after troubleshooting or installing other software applications (Antivirus and antispyware protection will be turned on automatically if your computer is restarted).
